About the Class

This Mountain Lodge Quilt Class is a “Fun with Triangles Class”.  Learn how to make and square up Four-at-a time Flying Geese when they aren’t “true flying geese (width = 2x height)”.   The mountains are constructed of squares and half square triangles.  We will learn to sew curved seams to make the sun. There will be tips for pressing each of the different sections.  We will be able to perfect all of the steps in this quilt while completing the top row.  This is a cute quilt that comes together fast.

Fabric Requirements

Background – 3 yds.
4 Greens – Fat quarters
6 Browns – Fat quarters
Moon (or sun?) – FQ or ¼ yd.
Binding – 2/3 yd.

Instructor

Marianne Ballash

Marianne learned to love sewing at a young age. She learned to hand quilt from her mother
and grandmother and enjoyed those times spent with them.
She has spent over 30 years taking classes and learning new techniques. She loves finding fun
and efficient ways to make beautiful quilts and especially enjoys piecing quilt tops. She has
taught classes in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. Her quilting classes include small piecing, and
techniques for adding efficiency and precision. She also teaches wool applique and bag
making. She has created several of her own patterns and projects. Marianne is always looking
for new designs and techniques and loves every step of the quilting process.
Quilting isn’t just a fun hobby; it gathers friends and families and creates lasting memories!
Marianne loves seeing her grandbabies snuggled in their quilts or her kids and their families
having a picnic on a quilt she’s made!  Marianne hopes that “Quilting with Marianne” will help
others create memories and find their passion for quilting.
