I had the opportunity to not only be a sponsor for the Sew Simply Stitched Quilt Retreat in March of 2016, but to also take classes and
attend the trunk shows. Even though I have been making quilts for several years I learned some really awesome skills that I have not done before.
Not only were the classes educational but they were very fun and there were classes available for all different skill levels. The instructors were outstanding and very helpful in making sure you learned any techniques used in the class. These are professional instructors from other areas
whom are very knowledgeable in the quilting industry. And then there were the trunk shows - wow - what an opportunity to see some of the most beautiful quilts and other projects from very talented women with a passion for quilting and sewing. Oh and I almost forgot to mention that
the food was great. The next retreat will be March 16-18, 2017 and I would highly recommend taking time out of your busy schedules to attend
classes and trunk shows. It is definitely worth whatever amount of money that you spend on it.
Hope to see you at the 2017 Sew Simply Stitched Retreat.

The quilting retreat was great! I enjoyed the many classes offered. There were so many different ideas presented and demonstrated that it made it hard to choose which classes to attend. I was able to attend several classes. The Zentangle class really got me going. Yes, muscle memory can help transition drawing into quilting patterns. The very next class I attended had to do with free motion quilting. With the influence of the two classes, I took some of the Zentangle ideas and worked them into the designs created in the free motion class. I also enjoyed Carina Gardner’s presentation about what her company does. I would love to do that type of work. I can’t wait for next year’s retreat!
